The Moodboard stores reference images and color alongside the manuscript, inside the project rather than outside it. Its purpose is retention: the images that informed a book remain retrievable months later and on any device signed in to the account.
Scope of a board
A board may be scoped to the book or to an individual scene. Both are the same feature applied at a different level, so a book-level board and a scene-level board can coexist within one project.
Where the images are stored
Moodboard images are written to a private object store filed under your user identifier. No image is retrievable by address: each request is authenticated and checked for ownership before the file is served. The mechanism is described in full in the Privacy Policy.
Deletion
Moodboard items are deleted with the book they belong to, and with the account, as part of the same cascade. Uploaded image files are removed from the object store in a separate step immediately after the account is deleted. Both routes are set out in the data deletion notice.
