A single tree for the whole manuscript: chapters, scenes, and the front and end matter a finished book needs. You reorder it by dragging rather than by cutting and pasting paragraphs between documents, and the stage colors, word counts and targets sit on the rows so you can see how the book stands while you restructure it.
Drag, don't retype
Move a scene between chapters without touching a word inside it.
Drag a scene into a different chapter and the prose inside it is untouched; structure and content stay separate. The Outliner and Corkboard read from this same tree, so one move updates every view of the book at once.
- Drag and drop to reorder, chapter to chapter or scene to scene
- Nest scenes under a chapter, or promote a scene into a chapter of its own
- Rename in place, without opening the document first
- Add a scene, chapter, or matter page from the row you are looking at
- Word count and target sit on the row, so progress is visible while you restructure

Every scene and chapter carries a status dot; Outline, Draft, Revision, Final Copy, whatever stages fit how you actually work, recolored to whatever palette makes sense to you.
Front and end matter, handled
Half-title, title page, copyright, dedication, table of contents; the parts of a real book that aren't a chapter live in the same Binder, in the order they'll actually print.

Set a target for a scene or chapter and watch it fill in as you write, without leaving the Binder to check.
