The Corkboard displays the scenes of a chapter, or the chapters of a book, as cards in reading order. It is a view onto the same document tree the Binder and the Outliner read, so a change made here is a change to the manuscript and requires no separate step to apply.
What a card shows
Each card shows the title of the scene and its synopsis. A chapter is therefore readable in summary without opening any document within it, and the relative length of adjacent scenes is visible from their word counts rather than inferred by scrolling.
Reordering
Drag a card to a new position. The scene moves in the manuscript at the same moment, and the Binder and Outliner reflect the new order immediately. No copy of the structure is maintained, so there is nothing to reconcile afterward and no state in which the board and the manuscript disagree.
Scope
The Corkboard operates on order and on the metadata shown on the cards. Prose is edited in the Editor rather than here. A card with no synopsis displays its title alone, so writing synopses is what makes the board useful as a reading surface.
